Dr. Kalathia was born in India and raised in New Jersey from the age of 6.  He received his liberal arts degree from Rutgers University in 1987, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  He went on to Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School, receiving several honors, awards and scholarships including Junior Alpha Omega Alpha distinction and Sigma Chi membership.  He completed his General Surgery Internship and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Albany Medical College in New York, where he received awards for his research in Head and Neck Cancer surgery, as well as recognition for regional and national presentations. 

 

He has been a board certified practicing Otolaryngologist at ENT Associates of Manatee since 1997. Over the years he has been involved with the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, the Manatee Medical Society and the the Florida Society of Otolaryngology. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents. 

 

Dr. Kalathia's areas of expertise include office based sinonasal surgery and head and neck surgery.  He was one of the first surgeons in Florida to offer in-office image guided balloon sinuplasty along with ethmoidectomy and endoscopic septoplasty.  He is one of the few surgeons in Florida offering Trans Oral Robotic Surgery for throat cancers and sleep apnea. He also specializes in thyroid and parathyroid surgery using minimally invasive techniques including the use of 4D CT scanning and rapid intra operative PTH and intra operative Sestamibi scanning. 

 

Dr. Kalathia is affiliated with Manatee Memorial Hospital and the Manatee Surgical Center.  

 

He enjoys spending time with his wife Calice and four children, traveling, teaching and playing tennis.
